How We Do Business

Everyone knows that Pixster is the largest photo booth rental company in Southern California and Central Texas… Duh! What you may not know is how important giving back is to us. Few of you may know that Pixster, through collaboration with Compassion International, sponsors a child with each booth that we have.

Well, with our recent growth to Austin and Orange County, we want to ensure that we maintain our commitment to sponsor a child for each new photo booth we manufacture. (And right now, we have 18 booths). Through this partnership with Compassion, these 18 children are able to receive food, clothing, and education. For every booth manufactured, a child in a developing country is fed, educated, and clothed. To honor these special children, we decided to name each photo booth after each individual child. Photo booth attendants don’t take booth number 6 or 7 to their events, but Fernando or Geovanny. But, we also maintain several other corporate social responsibility initiatives. For example…

Locally, we build relationships and hold contracts with San Diego artisans to manufacture every photo booth. This way we’re able to support small businesses. Sure, outsourcing the manufacturing would be more cost efficient. But, as our CEO and co-founder (and fearless leader) McLain Harvey says: “It just seems like the right thing to do." In addition to making sure our manufacturing is local, we also want it to be sustainable. The wood for each booth is grown using recycled and reclaimed materials from suppliers when available. Within our company, we compensate all of our photo booth attendants nearly 50% above the industry standard so we can provide our employees with a better quality of life.

Just this year alone, we took part in Phil’s Big BBQ at the Ballpark (a fundraiser to benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego), participated in the PULS Cardiac Test’s “Unmask Heart Disease” fundraiser, the Susan G. Komen “Kickin’ It Challenge” fundraiser for breast cancer, the Taste of Laguna fundraiser to benefit No Kid Hungry, and this fall we will be a part of the Kickoff Party for a cancer fundraiser cycling event.

Other charitable causes and organizations that we give to and support include Brides for a Cause, the American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters foundation, YMCA, and many other local fundraisers in San Diego, Orange County, and Austin. We like to believe that our exceptional, one-of-a-kind service should be provided not only to our customers, but also to our community. Through charitable donations to giving discounts to underprivileged homes, corporate social responsibility just isn’t an option; it’s how we conduct our business.
