2019 Photo Booth Guide

January 4, 2019

Pixster has almost 6 years and over 10,000 events of experience, making us an expert of our industry.  It is important for us to make sure our clients are getting the best photo booth experience possible whether or not they select us as their vendor. With no shortage of photo booth providers in Phoenix and Scottsdale and an increasing amount of service options, it can be pretty daunting trying to figure out what is right for you. To help our clients and potential clients we have published our 2019 Photo Booth Renter Guide.

Price:

By now you have probably set a budget for your event and are wondering how much you should budget for a photo booth. Pricing ranges from $300-$3000 with the national average for photo booth rentals currently around $500. However, according to WeddingWire, most brides seem to be spending $800-$1200 for a wedding photo booth rental. You may also want to look into what types and methods of payment companies use. Consider the types of cameras and printers provided. Ex: DSLR camera versus a point-and-shoot camera, dye-sub printer compared to an inkjet printer.

Style:

There are two common photo booth options: enclosed photo booths and open-air photo booths.  While

both enclosed and open air photo booths accomplish the same goal of creating high-quality images, they both offer unique features. Enclosed booths offer users a more intimate and traditional experience where-as an open air booth tends to be more inclusive and interactive.  You really can’t go wrong either

way, but we always recommend open air booths for events of 50 or more. Open air booths tend to draw more excitement from event goers and is a little quicker user experience which keeps the line moving.

Specialty Photo Booths:

From 360-degree slow motion videos to Kim Kardashian smoothing filters, there are more and more specialty photo booths popping up each year.  Although a specialty booth may sound ‘sexy’ now, keep in mind that years from now you may wish you had classic photos to look back at. When selecting what specialty photo booth may be right for your event consider what type of experience you want to provide your guests. If you are having a glamorous wedding, then a booth with a smoothing filter may be perfect.  If you are throwing a product launch party, then a 180 degree GIF booth or 360-degree video booth may be a great fit.
